Fauxionable Outfit – What to Wear Where: Christmas Eve/Christmas Tradition

Growing up, Christmas was a family gathering where we would gather at my aunt’s house for a potluck party. Since moving here to the US, Christmas for the most part is a day to unwind and have some “me time.” (preferably with some egg nog, of course!) This week’s What to Wear Where got me thinking about Christmas tradition. Since I don’t really have one, I decided to start one – wearing a gifted item to celebrate Christmas. Christmas for me as a non-Christian has always been appreciating the wonderful people that I have in my life. To show my love and appreciation, I think it’s only apt that I don gifts that I have received as part of my Christmas tradition.

Come this Christmas day, I’ll be home in this cozy outfit that consists of gifts that I’ve received throughout my life.

Gifts in this outfit – cardigan from my sister, necklace from my godmother (18th birthday gift), watch (Xmas 2011) and Cartier ring (Xmas 2012) from G.

What Christmas traditions do you have, if any? If not, did you make one? 😉

Fauxionable Outfit – Stars & Polka Dots

As mentioned here, it’s our company’s Xmas holiday party this evening, and I decided to keep to the same color scheme as the previous outfit – navy and red. I am however, incorporating mixed prints to it, stars and polka dots, both classics in my book.

Currently Coveting… Jewelry!

I am working on paring down garments in my wardrobe and have put myself on a self-imposed ban. (Although, I did recently add a sweater to my wardrobe but I was replacing another sweater that is worn out.) As such, I have been shopping for jewelry to add to my collection instead. I have since added two bracelets, two rings, and a necklace to my collection!

In my opinion, jewelry is a great way to accessorize and complete an outfit. It is also a great way to add color or a delicate/edgy piece to reflect one’s style. As a person who considers herself to be fairly conservative style-wise, I find jewelry to be a great way to add some sparkle that isn’t screaming for attention. Here are some that I am currently coveting…

  1. Adia Kibur Multi-Stone Necklace $78
  2. Anthropologie Vespero Necklace $58
  3. Ann Taylor Pearlized & Jet Bead Statement Necklace $78 (use code THANKS for 40% off till Nov 26)
  4. Anthropologie Heirloom Cluster Posts $28
  5. Anthropologie Enamel Petal Posts $28
  6. Anthropologie Crystal Collision Posts $48

On a side note, I am selling the YSL ring I have here. I will also have more items up in the coming days as I purge my wardrobe. Do check it out! 🙂

Currently Coveting… Bow Accessories!

I have an affinity for bows as I find them to be rather feminine and a classic in my book (much like polka dots and stripes). Since I’m on a clothing ban, I am coveting these bow accessories. (I may or may not have purchased one or more of these..! Heh)
